The Simpsons Channel (also known as 3+)
We truly live in The Simpsons Era. Our danish mock TV channel '3+' fit 8 shows a day into their programming! The show is 20 years old and 391 episodes has been made, but it still seems to remain fresh and imaginative. And Homer is the source of countless grotesque slapstick gags, still killing me with laughter. Our language has been infected with Simpsons one-liners; not a day goes by without a "D'Oh!" or a Burnsian "Excellent!". Will The Simpsons Era ever end? Sure it will. Just not right now. Check my blog again in 10 years...
Schmid 12:20, 12 January 2007 (CET) Computer Vision and Media Technology
I just passed my exam in 'Computer Vision and Media Technology'. I was to read
and present an article called 'Fast Photo-Realistic Rendering of Trees in
Daylight'. The article had a poorly explained light model that had me puzzled
for days. I finally thought I had it the second to last evening before the
exam, only to discover that I had missed an exponentiation in the equation :).
I finally decided that I really didn't understand it, and deployed smoke
and mirrors and oversimplified diagrams during the exam to avoid any follow-up
questions. It worked like a charm. To share my profound confusion with anyone
who reads this blog, I have posted a scan of my notes with this blog entry.
